This project involved the reconstruction of the promenade at this major Sydney beach. This included stepped ocean retaining walls, an amphitheatre, improved carparking, new shower facilities, turfed areas and plantings, and artistic mosaic-paving. Chief among the works were bulk excavations which created space for the new amenities block, hidden cleverly in the side of the seacliffs.
The amenities block was then externally clad with sandstone in order to blend in with the surrounding hard landscaping. This extensive revival allows greatly improved beach access for local families, swimmers, surfers and sunbathers alike.
“This promenade is a part of Sydney’s history, and we were honoured to be able to deliver this revitalisation back to the local community.”
Colin Woods, Managing Director
