Sector Power
Year 2024 – 2025
Location Macquarie Park, NSW
Client Ausgrid
Value $5M
This project is an expansion of Haslin’s earlier Macquarie Park Substation works that were completed in 2020. The original project involved the construction of a 132/33kV step-down sub-transmission station in order to meet Macquarie Park’s growing power requirements. This project expands the substation with a third 132/33kV transformer.
The scope of work includes the demolition of the existing oil containment systems, retaining wall, and sewer line, and the removal of steel frames as required. The new bay work involves a geotechnical survey, constructing the falsework, preparing precast wall segments, and commissioning the oil containment system once complete.
After the transformer oil containment system and bay are finished, preparation and excavation of the 33kV and 132kV cables can commence. Once the cables are installed, low voltage works can begin and new distribution boards and circuits between the transformers can be included.
Finally, footings and finishing electrical works will take place, along with the installation of proper signage and making good any driveway and yard alterations.

Haslin invited Brendan Kerin and Michael West to perform a Smoking Ceremony at the site, to remind us that we’re working on the traditional land of the Wallumattagal People of the Eora Nation.

We are very happy to be delivering this project on behalf of our repeat client Ausgrid alongside trusted subcontractors such as DAMCON.
