Sector Water + Wastewater
Year 2020-21
Location Grenfell, NSW
Client Weddin Shire Council
Value $12m
This project entailed the construction of a brand new Wastewater Treatment Plant in historic Grenfell, replacing an ageing facility that had come to the end of its life after 80 years of service. The plant – the 25th water treatment facility delivered by Haslin – is a state-of-the-art IDAL / SBR facility capable of processing 1500 kilolitres of effluent per day, which will meet the town’s requirements for twenty years to come.
Haslin prioritised local labour across disciplines, engaging earthmoving contractors, quarry contractors, civil contractors, labour hire and mechanical staff from the local region, upskilling and ensuring a skills legacy.
“We definitely went the extra mile to deliver a quality product, well beyond what the technical specifications required.”
Darren Taylor, Project Manager
